Layout

The Newport Bass is deliverable in various versions, enabling us to build the version of choice very efficiently with some insert pieces and various benches. We offer you the following choices, providing you with every possible combination of these choices. Along with all the possibilities described and showed below, every version of the Newport Bass is also available in a ‘XL’ edition, with an extra hut under the cabin, where two additional beds can be found. The additional costs of these options are specified at ‘Options & Accessories

1. Position of the steering wheel /helm:

The steering wheel can be placed at the back of the ship, as can be seen in the picture. In front of the steering wheel there is a spacious seating shaped like an ‘U’ located at starboard. With the optional table leg, one could easily change this seating including the table into either a sundeck or a double bed. At port side a 5-pax bench is located. With this layout the Newport Bass is one of the most spatial cabin sloops from Holland, and the person steering is not separated from company.
The steering wheel could also be placed in the front of the cockpit, on starboard. Next to the helm seat a second chair is placed.. Behind the chairs a seating shaped like an U is located. With little effort this seating is changed into a sundeck. On portside you will encounter a 5-pax bench. With this setup the Newport Bass is comparable to traditional motorboats. Very adequate for longer trips with two people.

2. Spray hood or fixed windows

Standard the Newport Bass comes with a spray hood. This spray hood consists of three segments. The segment in front has three windows and can be folded to the front. This way the Newport Bass has a vertical height of 1.85 metres, so for example 80 percent of Amsterdam’s canals are navigable with the Newport Bass. The middle segment is zipped on the front side and stays at the same height, since it’s aft side is held by a removable aluminium support. The third segment covers the aft section of the cockpit and slopes down to the cockpit coaming. In the case of bad weather, you simply seal everything except for the centre part of the aft segment. With a sou'wester or the optional bimini (awning) there will be no problem even whilst cruising under bad weather conditions. If you choose for fixed windows the vertical height of the boat is 2.25 metres. This will lead to 15 to 25 centimetres of spare height at a lot of bridges in Holland. If you choose for the windows, we supply you with a spray hood which will protect under worse weather circumstances, as you will be able to travel in a sealed-off boat. The high back tent could, if the sides are zipped off, also function as awning. The three fixed windows are supplied with wipers.

3. Open or closed cabin

Also in this situation the customer decides in what way the boat will be delivered. We offer the choice between an open passageway from the cabin to the cockpit or a closed version with lockable doors instead.

4. Newport Bass XL

The XL version of the Newport Bass has a length of 10.25 meter. All presented interior choices are also available in the XL. The extra length is used to create an extra aft cabin with 2 full size berths. The cockpit offers slightly more space than the 9 meter version. A swimming platform is incorporated in the hull.

5. Newport Bass XXX

The Newport Bass XXX is an appealing boat with lots of outdoor space and a tough sexy look. Designed for people who understand that watersport is mainly experienced outside. But when they retract to sleep on board they search for space and comfort. The hull of the Newport Bass XL is well suited for this open version. Air draft 1.85, so the canals in Amsterdam can be navigated. 

Some typical cases are:

Cockpit with open transom: The aft cockpit is the eye-catcher of the Newport Bass XXX. From behind you look into the 4 meter open space of the boat. The adjustable table (coffee, dinner , barstool height) has a central position. In the table a bottle refrigerator is installed. At the back you find a gas BBQ - grill. : On either side of the cockpit benches are fixed, that can be extracted to lounge sofas with 70 cm width. Length of these beds is 2 meters. From the cockpit, there is a free passage to the swimming platform.
Cabin - accommodation: light, modern, a huge bed in the front and spacious feeling around it. Styled by the interior designer Just Haasnoot, who choose to use leather, indirect LED lighting and stainless steel accents. 190 cm headspace, also in the toilet / shower unit at starboard

Sound Proofing: The 54 HP and the 75 HP motor are built in a heavily isolated sound box. In this way all noise produced by the motor will be absorbed and the sole sounds you will hear whilst cruising are wind and water. In the case of heavier engines this sound absorbing surrounding is not possible, but instead we put additional insulation on the cockpit floor and all nooks will be hermetically sealed. On all engines a separated exhaust system is mounted, in order for cooling water and waste gases to be abducted separately.
The standard dashboard of the Newport Bass consists of : RPM, hour counter, temperature- and oil pressure-measurer, combined log-depth meter, compass, exhaust-alarm and bowthruster panel. Another option is to install a GPS system among others, potentially with autopilot.
